The National Respite for Carers Program

Funding: Total NRCP funds currently at approximately $88 million per year ($52 million US).

Description of program: A range of services are provided nationally under the National Respite for Carers Program (NRCP) which includes the funding of:

·        Carers Australia, the national advocacy body

·       8 Commonwealth Carer Resource Centres and the national management of them

·       82 Commonwealth Carer Respite Centres

·       National Dementia Behaviour Advisory Service

·       Carers Education and Workforce Training

·       National Carers Counselling Program
