SUMMARY:Caregiving in the US 2025: Unlocking Data to Transform Family Caregiving
DESCRIPTION:Caregiving in the US 2025 will release on July 24. With the new report out\, join the National Alliance of Caregiving and AARP for a discussion on the key insights\, themes\, and data trends emerging from the 2025 report and data. \nCaregiving in the US (CGUS) is the nation’s leading ongoing data project on family caregiving that explores the challenges and opportunities associated with caregiving across different populations across the lifespan. Initiated in 1997\, CGUS provides policymakers\, advocates\, researchers\, healthcare leaders\, and family caregivers a regular pulse check on the economic and healthcare realities of America’s growing community of family caregivers. CGUS is a joint project of NAC and AARP.

SUMMARY:Strengthening American Families: Programs & Policies to Support Family Caregivers
DESCRIPTION:Family caregivers are the backbone of our nation’s healthcare system and economy. With more than 53 million Americans providing care across every state and community\, many important federal programs offer family caregivers – and those they serve — a variety of support in order to keep their loved ones at home\, versus having to move them to costly institutional care. With the proper support\, many family caregivers can continue to work and care for their family members in a way that offers higher quality\, personalized care\, dignity and “choice” for the individual. Whether it is a parent caring for a child with complex health care needs\, or a sister caring for her brother with intellectual disabilities\, or a son caring for his father with Alzheimer’s disease\, they all need support. \nJoin the National Alliance for Caregiving – and partners from across the care continuum – for a briefing on some of the key federal programs that family caregivers rely upon. Join us on June 12th as we discuss how family caregivers receive support from Medicaid\, Medicare and the Older Americans Act. \nRemarks by: \n\nJason Resendez\, President and CEO\, National Alliance for Caregiving\nScott Bane\, Senior Program Officer\, The John A. Hartford Foundation\n\nPanelists include: \n\nRachel Richards\, Senior Vice President\, Careforth\nBryn Ceman\, Caregiver Programs Specialist\, Greater Wisconsin Area on Aging Resources\, Inc.\nRachel Conant\, Executive Director\, Alzheimer’s Impact Movement and Senior Vice President\, Public Policy\, Alzheimer’s Association\nStephanie Monroe\, President\, The Wrenwood Group\, LLC\n\nModerated by: \n\nDaniel Rutherford Wilson\, Senior Director of Government Affairs & Advocacy\, National Council on Aging\n\nRegister

SUMMARY:Breaking Down Barriers: Caregivers & the Challenges of CAR-T and BMT Requirements
DESCRIPTION:As cell therapies such as Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell (CAR T) Therapy and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) continue to transform treatment options\, they also introduce unique challenges\, one of the most significant being the need for a 24/7 family caregiver during and after treatment. While these therapies offer lifesaving potential\, their success often depends not just on the clinical care but on the dedicated round-the-clock support provided by caregivers. \nObjectives: \n\nUnderstand how caregiver involvement directly impacts the success of CAR T and BMT\, from pretreatment to post-discharge support\nHighlight the multifaceted burdens caregivers experience\, including navigating the complex healthcare system and providing round-the-clock care\nShare actionable solutions to enhance the caregiver experience and improve patient outcomes\n\nRegister

SUMMARY:Caregiver Training Services Implementation Guide Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Caregivers are essential members of a patient’s care team\, yet they have often been overlooked and unsupported. This session will review changes to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) that expand and improve services for family caregivers and Medicare beneficiaries. We will highlight two case studies of health systems implementing caregiver training services (CTS) and the lessons they learned. Attendees will also learn about the National Alliance for Caregiving’s efforts and recommendations for integrating family caregivers into cancer care through CTS codes.

SUMMARY:Champions in Care Forum: Why Caregiver Input Matters in Defining Value in Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:As the U.S. grapples with defining value in healthcare and medical interventions\, there is growing recognition that integrating caregiver experiences and perspectives are vital to understanding a patient’s disease or condition journey. Yet\, how to identify and collect relevant data from family caregivers to inform medical interventions remains in nascent stages. \nJoin us for a discussion on the value and importance of caregiver experiences\, the current gaps in understanding of what matters most to caregivers\, and how best practices for collecting this information to inform clinical\, policy\, and regulatory decision-making.

SUMMARY:Gaps and Opportunities: Family Caregiver Programs in U.S. Transplant Centers
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is part of the National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC)’s ongoing advocacy and research efforts to improve support for transplant caregivers\, building on recommendations from the report\, Transplant Caregiving in the US: A Call for Systems Change. Family caregivers are the “unsung heroes” in the transplantation process\, managing waitlists\, providing long-term follow up\, assisting with complex needs\, and navigating healthcare systems. Despite these challenges\, they often go unrecognized and lack adequate support and resources. \nDuring this webinar\, NAC will share data from its latest report titled Gaps and Opportunities: Family Caregiver Programs in U.S. Transplant Centers\, which examines the policies and practices for identifying\, assessing\, and supporting family caregivers across transplant centers. The data reveals that while 70% of transplant centers offer at least one type of caregiver support program only 3% of centers conduct regular caregiver assessments. The report also issues six recommendations to ensure that family caregivers are supported throughout the transplant journey. Participants will hear from healthcare experts\, advocates\, and family caregivers about the vital role caregivers play in transplant care. This discussion will be tailored for a variety of audiences\, including transplant center providers\, patient advocacy groups\, policymakers\, and researchers to highlight the need to recognize and support family caregivers to improve patient short- and long-term health and quality of life outcomes. \nAttendees will be able to: \n\nUnderstand the role of family caregivers in the transplant care\nLearn about the availability of family caregiver support services based on a national survey of transplant centers\nIdentify the gaps and opportunities for improving support for family caregivers\nExplore the current transplant delivery system reform efforts and their impact on family caregivers

SUMMARY:Caregiver Nation Summit 2024
DESCRIPTION:Recognition of America’s 53 million family caregivers – and the issues impacting them – has never been greater. While progress has been made\, it’s not enough to meet the growing needs of family caregivers across the nation. Now is the time for unified action to make caregiving more sustainable\, equitable\, and dignified. Together we will: \n\nEducate and Advocate: Hear from the nation’s leading voices on care and equip yourself with the knowledge and tools to effectively advocate for change with policymakers.\nRaise Visibility: Shine a spotlight on the often-invisible work of family caregivers and the value of their contributions to our healthcare system\, economy and communities.\nBuild Community: Foster collaboration and partnerships to drive action on our National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers.\n\nThe Caregiver Nation Summit is more than a conference; it’s a catalyst for change on our country’s first-ever National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers. It’s a platform for caregivers\, advocates\, policymakers\, and movement leaders to come together to shape the future of care in our nation’s capital.
