SUMMARY:Closing the Dementia Diagnosis Gap: What the ASAP Act Means for Family Caregivers
DESCRIPTION:Family caregivers are at the center of nearly every healthcare journey\, yet their voices are too often missing from the policies that shape healthcare access\, affordability\, and innovation. Join the National Alliance for Caregiving as we launch our new Healthcare Access\, Affordability & Innovation Policy Agenda and kick off a series of educational opportunities exploring how healthcare policy can better support family caregivers as essential partners in care and as current and future patients. \nOur first session\, hosted in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement (AIM)\, will focus on the Alzheimer’s Screening and Prevention (ASAP) Act\, bipartisan legislation that would expand Medicare coverage for FDA-authorized early detection screening tests for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias\, including blood-based biomarker tests. Learn why earlier detection matters\, not only for individuals living with dementia\, but also for family caregivers\, who benefit from more time to understand a diagnosis\, participate in care decisions\, plan for future needs\, and connect with resources and supports. \nRegister Now

SUMMARY:Your Story Matters: Supporting Family Caregivers Across the Cancer-to-Transplant Continuum
DESCRIPTION:The National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) and Transplant Journey are partnering to host an interactive listening session on cancer-related transplant caregiving. This session will explore the experience\, challenges\, and needs of family caregivers supporting individuals undergoing or who have received a transplant related to their cancer treatment. The purpose of the session is to hear directly from caregivers\, and insights gathered will help shape Cancer Caregiving Collaborative efforts to strengthen the integration of caregivers into health care delivery\, particularly in high-intensity treatment contexts where caregiver involvement is critical to outcomes. \nThese listening sessions are designed as dedicated spaces for family caregivers of someone with who has received a cancer-related transplant (current or past). Due to limited space\, we kindly ask that only those who are or have been cancer-related transplant caregivers complete registration. \nIf you are not a cancer-related transplant caregiver but would like to learn more about our work\, please reach out to us at CancerCareCollab@caregiving.org. We we’d be happy to connect and share updates on both the Cancer Caregiving Collaborative and the Transplant Caregiving Collaborative. \nRegister Now
