Dexter K. Allen is the Executive Administrator & Special Assistant to the President/CEO where he is responsible for administrative support to the President/CEO in her work to achieve NAC’s mission. In addition, he supports the team by managing the office, teambuilding, and building strong communications with internal and external stakeholders to advance the work of NAC.
Dexter previously served as the Executive Assistant for the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director at the American Anthropological Association (AAA) for seven years. During that time, he provided administrative support for the association and the annual meeting, as well as managing the AAA Internship Program, and assisting with coordinating various meetings and conference calls. Prior to working with the AAA, he provided administrative support to executives at the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Potomac Electric Power Company, the National Association of Postal Supervisors, and The Library of Congress.
Dexter earned both his Bachelor’s and a Master’s degrees in Business Administration with honors from the American Intercontinental University. In addition, he is certified in the administrative field and holds the following certifications: Certified Administrative Professional (CAP), Organizational Management (OM), and Technology Applications (TA). Dexter is a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). He has over thirty years of experience in the administrative support, in which he takes great pride in executing.
Dexter is a native Washingtonian who enjoys traveling, vacationing at the beach, eating at various restaurants, shopping for the latest fashions, and fun times with family and friends.
