Mai Yamaguchi, PhD., MSG

Mai Yamaguchi is a professor in the Department of Integrated Human Studies and Graduate School of Social Work at Japan Lutheran College, Tokyo, Japan. She is also a certified social worker and Director of Carers Japan. She is one of the committee members of the Policy and Strategy Working Group of the International Alliance of Carers Organization (IACO). She received her Master’s Degree in Gerontology from the University of Southern California, USA in 2001 and her Doctor’s Degree in Social Work from Sophia University, Japan in 2005. Her research interests include supporting carers, the care mix for the elderly, long term care services, socialization of care, and social work in health and care organizations. She received Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) (B) from JPSP (Japanese Society of Promotion of Science) twice as lead researcher and several times as co-researcher. She also received Fund for Japan-Lithuania Joint Seminar from JPSP.
