While you’re reading this, millions of Americans are juggling work calls while managing their parent’s medications or helping a spouse with dementia. They’re family caregivers—and groundbreaking new data shows they urgently need our support.

At the upcoming USAging’s Innovations in Caregiver Services and Supports Virtual Summit, Jason Resendez, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC), will share new findings from Caregiving in the US 2025, a landmark data collaboration with AARP.

Three Findings That Demand Action

  • Nearly half provide intense care with little help. That’s 30 million people performing complex medical and nursing tasks with little to no training.
  • Income inequality hits caregivers hard. Lower-income families face greater caregiving demands but have fewer resources—perpetuating a cycle of stress and financial strain.
  • Women bear a heavier burden. Female caregivers provide more hands-on care and report significantly higher physical and emotional exhaustion than men.

Building Solutions Through Partnership

NAC isn’t just documenting challenges—they’re actively building solutions as one of eight Leadership Team partners on USAging’s Innovations in Family Caregiver Services and Supports Initiative. Together, they’re implementing Goal 3 of the National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers, working to expand and enhance the availability of services and support nationwide.

Their collaborative efforts have already launched two game-changing resources:

These tools are elevating caregiver needs and equipping communities with practical solutions to better serve them.
