Vice President of Research and Impact
Laura Forsythe is the Vice President of Research and Impact for the National Alliance for Caregiving, where she leads the strategic direction for NAC’s research initiatives and works to translate caregiving research into evidence-based policy and systems solutions for America’s 63 million family caregivers.
Prior to joining NAC, Laura spent 13 years at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), where she led the team responsible for measuring how PCORI’s approach to funding research produced high-impact, patient-centered evidence and for translating those findings into organizational learning and strategic progress. Earlier, as a research fellow at the National Cancer Institute, she studied quality of life, psychosocial well-being, and models of holistic care for cancer survivors.
Laura is a clinical health psychologist and research leader. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Alabama, a Master of Public Health with a focus on epidemiology and biostatistics from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from the University of North Carolina.
