Rachel Cannady

Ms. Cannady is the American Cancer Society’s Strategic Director of Caregiving, where she provides leadership and strategic decision-making to position the organization as a prominent champion in elevating the critical role and needs of caregivers. She is responsible for developing a nationwide framework for coordinating, communicating, and integrating interdisciplinary and inter-organizational caregiver research and program dissemination and implementation.

For over two decades, she has been the lead resource in caregiving and has also managed some of the nation’s largest, longitudinal dyadic studies of quality of life among cancer survivors and their caregivers, resulting in nearly 50 scientific publications. From this research, Ms. Cannady developed the first-ever suite of evidence-informed resources for caregivers ranging from psychoeducational materials to care training and self-care videos.
