The National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC), a catalyst for transforming how America values and supports family caregivers, has added three accomplished professionals to its team, further strengthening the organization’s advocacy efforts, research capabilities, and strategic partnerships.
“We are thrilled to welcome Elaine Dalpiaz, Adali Hernandez, and Dr. Lori Frank to the National Alliance for Caregiving team,” said Jason Resendez. “Their combined expertise in policy, strategic partnerships, and research will be invaluable as we catalyze the system change we need to value the immense contributions of our nation’s family caregivers.”
Elaine Dalpiaz, Vice President for Government Affairs and Policy
Elaine Dalpiaz joins NAC as Vice President for Government Affairs and Policy, bringing more than 30 years of advocacy, communications, and policy expertise across Capitol Hill, federal agencies, and non-profit organizations. She has focused her career on addressing unmet health care and social needs of children, families, and older Americans.
Most recently, Elaine served as Vice President at First Focus on Children, developing federal policy for children’s health care initiatives. Prior to that, she spent five years at AARP leading advocacy on long-term services and supports. Her Capitol Hill experience includes working for the Senate Special Committee on Aging under Chairman John Breaux, and in the offices of Senators Blanche Lincoln and John Glenn.
Elaine also served as Deputy Director of the 1995 White House Conference on Aging and as Vice President for Public Policy at Burness Communications, where she led Robert Wood Johnson Foundation initiatives on innovative care models. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Walsh College and a Master’s in social policy from the London School of Economics.
Adali Hernandez, Senior Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations
Adali Hernandez joins NAC as Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, where he will lead efforts to secure support and foster strategic partnerships that drive impactful programs for family caregivers.
Previously, Adali led corporate partnerships at The Trevor Project, working with brands across diverse industries to support LGBTQ+ youth while aligning corporate objectives with meaningful social change. His experience includes leading partnerships at UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Latino civil rights organization, and working with the California State Assembly and Mercury Public Affairs.
A graduate of California State University, Sacramento, Adali co-founded the Capitol LGBTQ Association and is a fellow of Equality California’s Institute Leadership Academy and an alumnus of the American Express Leadership Academy US.
Lori Frank, Ph.D., Senior Research Fellow
Lori Frank, Ph.D., joins NAC as Senior Research Fellow, bringing extensive expertise in health research with a focus on caregiving, memory screening, and dementia services. Previously, Dr. Frank served as the inaugural President of Women’s Health Access Matters (WHAM), a non-profit accelerating funding for women’s health research, and as Senior Vice President for Research at the New York Academy of Medicine.
Her distinguished career includes founding and directing the Evaluation and Analysis Program at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) and serving as Executive Director of the Center for Health Outcomes Research at United BioSource Corporation. Dr. Frank completed her Health and Aging Policy Fellowship at the National Institute on Aging and has held research positions with Georgetown University, AstraZeneca, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
Dr. Frank is Past-President of the International Society for Quality of Life Research, a Board member for the Personalized Medicine Coalition, and serves on the Medical, Scientific, and Memory Screening Advisory Board of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. She holds a Doctorate in Human Development/Gerontology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s degree in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University.
