Patrice A. Heinz is the Chief Operating Officer, where she is responsible for directing the operations of the organization and ensuring alignment with its mission and goals. She directs and oversees work streams in Innovation, Communication, Fund Development, Membership, Finance, Business Planning and Office Operations. Her work encompasses program development, member and corporate contract support, member recruitment, restricted giving, and communications for the Alliance Board of Directors, members, funders, and other stakeholders.
She previously served as the Director of Development for Women Enabled International; the Director of Resource Development for the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities; and was the proprietor and principal consultant of Heinz Consultants, a business she founded in 1984. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, organizational analysis, program development and evaluation, board and leadership development, and philanthropic alignment to mission. She is the author of numerous articles, white papers, and publications, including “Developing Successful Grant Proposals” the sixth curriculum in the Resource Development series published by the Alliance for Children and Families, and “Responding to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 – The Financial Reporting Practices of Nonprofits (2003).
Patrice is a Member of the National Advisory Council of United Health Care; the Leadership Committee of the National Association of Councils for Developmentally Disabled; the Rare Disease Caregiving Advisory Board, Travere Pharmaceuticals; and the Steering Committee, Rare Disease Diversity Coalition. She is a former Member, Surgical Family Care Committee of Children’s National Health System (Children’s National Medical Center), Washington DC, and the Former President and a founding member of the Parent Teacher Organization, St. Coletta Charter School of Greater Washington (for children with multiple special needs). Prior to moving to DC, Pat was active in numerous community and civic affairs in her home state of Wisconsin, serving on the Public Health Priorities Committee of the Governor’s Health Policy Council and the Patient Compensation Panel of the Supreme Court of Wisconsin. She was a founding member of the Women’s Fund of the Milwaukee Foundation.
Patrice’s passion in life is being a family caregiver to her adult daughter, Ashley Nicole.
