WASHINGTON– The National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) President and CEO Jason Resendez issued the following statement in response to President Biden’s State of the Union speech:

The National Alliance for Caregiving applauds President Biden for uplifting the vital role family caregivers play in our society as part of his State of the Union Address. From paid family and medical leave to improved home and community-based services, the President presented a bold vision for investing in a better future for America’s 53 million family caregivers.

NAC calls for swift action on these policies by Congress and for the urgent implementation of the National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers, which outlines actions to support this growing community.

Building a better future for family caregivers will depend on our national commitment to invest in the infrastructure needed to make their work more sustainable, equitable, and dignified.
