I am saddened to learn of Gail’s death. We worked together for decades on family caregiving issues – when I was at the Family Caregiver Alliance and later at the AARP Public Policy Institute. Gail was a strong advocate for family caregivers and never missed an opportunity to raise a question about caregiving needs and issues at policy briefings and aging conferences. She left a lasting legacy at NAC. Her vision and tenacity helped move the caregiving field to new and important directions. May she Rest In Peace.

All those who work for carers/caregivers in the United Kingdom will remember Gail with affection and respect. Indeed her name and her work are known and admired throughout Europe.
I so well remember meeting her at the first International Conference on Carers held in London in 1998. Her enthusiasm, her ability to ‘sell’ our cause to potential sponsors, and her energy were an inspiration.
We continued to meet in locations across the world as the international carers movement grew and I always came away from such meetings newly determined to promote the needs of carers in any available forum. Her international work will be a legacy to add to her reputation in her home country.
Rest in peace.
When I first got involved in aging issues decades ago, Gail was one of the first people I contacted. I was amazed at the depth of her knowledge and her relentless advocacy for caregivers and caregiving. I never stopped learning from her and will miss her. My deepest sympathy to her family. May her memory be a blessing.
My Home Instead colleagues and I were deeply saddened to hear of Gail’s passing. She made a tremendous impact on the caregiving community and was a committed advocate for caregiving issues. Her legacy will live on through the continued work of NAC, an organization that I admire greatly. Sending along my sincerest condolences to Gail’s family and friends.
