The National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) announced the addition of three senior leaders to support the organization’s continued growth and expanding impact across research, policy, advocacy, and philanthropy.

Laura Pence Forsythe, PhD, MPH, joins NAC as Vice President of Research and ImpactBlaire Bryant, MPH, joins as Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, and Yadira Cabrera joins as Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations.

Together, these leaders bring decades of experience in research, policy, and philanthropy at a pivotal moment for family caregiving in America.

“Family caregivers are the backbone of our health and long-term care systems, yet they remain too often overlooked. As NAC grows to meet the needs of this moment, we’re investing in the leadership needed to turn recognition into real change,” said Jason Resendez, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Caregiving. “Laura, Blaire, and Yadira each bring the expertise—and the fierce commitment to a more caring future—that we need to deepen our impact for family caregivers across the country. We’re thrilled to welcome them to the team.”

Accelerating Research to Impact

A clinical health psychologist and nationally recognized research leader, Dr. Laura Pence Forsythe brings deep expertise in patient-centered outcomes research, evidence generation, and impact evaluation. Prior to NAC, she spent 13 years at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), where she led efforts to measure the impact of research investments and translate findings into organizational learning. She also completed a research fellowship at the National Cancer Institute focused on cancer survivorship and quality of life.

Shaping Policy to Create Change

With more than a decade of experience at the intersection of federal and local policy, Blaire Bryant has built a career driving progress across Medicaid, behavioral health, long-term care, and public health. Most recently, she served as Senior Legislative Director at the National Association of Counties (NACo), where she led the organization’s health policy portfolio while serving as a critical bridge between county governments and federal agencies, Congress, and the White House—translating complex policy into workable local solutions on the ground. A published author and recognized expert, Blaire has contributed to national initiatives on health equity, behavioral health, and COVID-19 response.

Expanding Partnerships and Philanthropic Growth

Yadira (Dira) Cabrera brings nonprofit leadership experience focused on fundraising, philanthropic engagement, and partnership development. Before joining NAC, she led affinity and professional group programming at the Two Ten Footwear Foundation and previously managed membership and peer network initiatives at the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO), helping foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among professionals and industry leaders.

Building the Future of Caregiving

The appointments reflect NAC’s continued investment in building the research, policy, and partnership infrastructure necessary to drive the system change family caregivers need and deserve.

As caregiving demands continue to grow, NAC remains committed to advancing data-driven research, bipartisan policy solutions, and cross-sector partnerships needed to recognize, integrate, and support family caregivers across society.
